Christmas is always a wonderful time in St. Brendan’s. The various
displays in the hallways and outside the classrooms all are an integral part of developing the festive spirit in the school. Many and varied art activities occur in the classrooms and the pupils enjoy the various art activities at this time of year. Many classes also visit our school crib as they prepare to celebrate the arrival of the baby Jesus.
Sixth class put on a wonderful Gymnastics Display for all classes in the school showing off all the skills they had learned in their gymnastics lessons. The class divided into groups and each group performed a routine to music involving rolling, tumbling, balancing, jumping, creative poses both as floor exercises and using the horse and the high bars. Their creative interpretation of the music combined with their expressive gymnastic activity was wonderful to watch.

In preparation for Christmas we held our Advent Ceremonies in the gym. Each of our senior classes carried the wreath and candles, said the prayers and the rest of the school sang Christmas Carols and seasonal hymns. Our pupils always get great enjoyment from singing ” The Twelve Days of Christmas ” and this year again they sang with enthusiasm and delight
Santa visited St. Brendan’s this year travelling in a big red bus. He had something nice in his bag for all the classes. The younger pupils were even lucky enough to get a spin around the yard on his specially decorated bus. Santa visited all classes and some of our younger pupils got to shake hands with him.It was a very enjoyable experience for all the pupils in St. Brendan’s and they look forward to him coming on Christmas Eve and to his visit to the school next year.
